Speech Pathology Across the Lifespan

Supporting toddlers, young people, and adults with personalised care for speech, language, literacy, and beyond.

What is Speech Pathology?

When most people think of speech pathology (or speech therapy), they picture someone helping a child pronounce tricky sounds, supporting a late talker, or working with someone who stutters. While these are important parts of what we do, speech pathology goes far beyond just speech.

Speech pathology is about how people communicate, connect, and understand the world around them — at every stage of life, from infancy through to older adulthood. Everyone’s communication journey is unique, and that’s what makes our work so meaningful. Whether you’re a parent, a carer, or seeking support for yourself, your story matters to us.

More Than Just Speech

Our work extends beyond spoken words. We support people with:
  • Auditory Processing
Helping you make sense of sounds and improve everyday listening.
  • Language
Building skills to understand others and express your own ideas clearly.
  • Literacy
Support with reading, writing, and learning for school, work, and life.
  • Cognitive Communication
Every session is adapted to your environment, your communication style, and your individual needs.
  • Feeding & Swallowing
Ensuring safe and comfortable eating and drinking at every age.
  • Voice & Fluency
Supporting clear, confident speech and healthy voice use.
  • Social Communication
Developing skills to connect, share, and build meaningful relationships.
  • AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)
Providing tools and strategies for those who need other ways to communicate.

For Children & Young People

We might help toddlers find their first words, support children with dyslexia or language delays, or empower neurodivergent young people to communicate in ways that feel authentic and natural to them.

For Adults

We may support someone re-learning to speak after a brain injury, assist with safe swallowing and clear communication in conditions such as Parkinson’s or dementia, or help maintain voice health for daily life or professional needs.

At Sigma Rehab,

Speech pathology is about far more than “fixing speech” — it’s about giving people the tools, strategies, and confidence to share their voice and connect with the world in their own way.
